|Support for CES feeding program|
VM Baga personally delivers an initial sack of first class rice and a piece of dressed chicken to the school. Mr. Gilbor Camporazo, the school principal and Ashley Rose Capispisan, president of school pupil government receive the feeding support in a simple ceremony done at the office of the school principal.
Baga said that Cubay Elem. School is one of the 15 elementary schools in the division of La Carlota City for his feeding program. The program will be continued till the next school year. The rice and other feeding supplement are just the initial supplies distributed. When the supplies run out, they will be replenished. The program will be monitored to make it sustainable, the vice mayor said.
Camporazo expressed his gratefulness for such fatherly concerned of VM Baga to the pupils of CES, more particularly those who have severe and wasted nutritional status. He's confident that healthy and nutritious fed pupils will academically excel in their studies. And they will not readily get sick.
Though Cubay elem. School has a limited number of malnourished pupils, but most of them are poor. They couldn't even have their regular breakfast in going to school. The meager income of their parents are not sufficient to provide them what they need. The school has looked into that. A feeding program funded by GAA was realized, but it didn't last. It lacked sustainability for lack of continuous funding. Now, VM Baga has come to the rescue to include CES in his feeding program. Baga personally visited the school, talked with the school principal, and presented the program. The school openly welcomes the program.
The initiative of VM Baga is highly recognized by the school. The pupils and their parents have also manifested their gratefulness to the vice mayor's gestures of helping the pupils in their nutritional needs in a casual meeting of the school principal to them.
