Teacher's Performance Contract Binding?

The Division of La Carlota is doing the best for the teachers to improve their teaching performance. Teachers if possible be well attended to by their respective school heads when their performance is at stake, is well addressed in the administrative conference.

The Division strictly adheres to the mission of the Department of Education to make every Filipino functional, literate. Thus, teachers should be competent to teach their pupils quality education

Dr. Juliet A. Jeruta, La Carlota schools division superintendent who is not only a competent school executive but a well-versed division superintendent as far as school management is concerned, has laid down the basic preparation for every teacher in the division of La Carlota in a half-day administrative meeting with the 23 elementary school heads and several secondary heads this morning.

To set things in order and to achieve the very purpose or aim of education in La Carlota in this school year 2011-2012, Jeruta severally and jointly poked these school heads to let their teachers execute a performance contract so that no child or learner be left behind. And so that the teachers could be diligently and faithfully discharge their stewardship.

As pointed out, this contract stipulates that a teacher should commit to do the following: as to their performance indicator, zero drop-out, 100% completion rate, 75% Mean Percentage Score (MPS) in
Division Achievement Test (DAT), Regional Achievement Test (RAT), and National Achievement Test (NAT), Full implementation of School Readiness Assessment (SReA), administration of the Philippine
Informal Reading Inventory (Phil-IRI)/DPIP, and Oral Reading Assessment Inventory;

As to co-curricular/extra-curricular, a certain percentage of their pupils participating/involving in scouting, in environmental education, Alternative Learning System (ALS), Nutritional Status, institute Child-friendly measures;

As to the management of school resources like their classrooms, programs and projects in co-curricular/extra-curricular activities;

As to their individual plan for professional development, priorities and plan of action and as to their promptness and attendance.

"Time spent is time lost," a reminder which Ferdinand Sy, OIC/assistant schools division superintendent relayed to the school principals earlier when regards to their job, could be a guiding principle for the teachers in accomplishing their contract so that they will not dwindle in their teaching job.

So be it!
