Tennis Tournament
While today the 2nd Congressman/Mayor Ferrer Tennis Open Singles Tournament opens this afternoon and the playing sked will be until Saturday, April 21, 2012. Then the Team Tennis Tournament will be on Monday, April 23 until Thursday, 26, finals.

On Monday, the opening program will start at 5:00 p.m. at the festival park (plaza) with an-hour of thanksgiving mass. Then Rev. Fr. Hubert M. Javellana will commence the formal opening ceremony by his invocation and he will also bless the 12 blessings.
La Carlota Mayor Juliet Marie D. Ferrer will welcome the guests, visitors and the people of La Carlota.
The Blessings of Thanksgiving Rituals
The 12 thanksgiving rituals that will be done by the Sangguniang Panlungsod Members will ensue. The blessing of fire will be tendered by Karen L. Aguirre, the blessing of money by Rex R. Jalandoon, the blessing of water by Luis J. Jalandoni III, the blessing of fruits by Ciriaco D. Sia, Jr., and the blessing of soil by Julian M. Chiang, the blessing of timber by Jacob E. Liansing.
Moreover, the other offerings are the blessing of goods by Jaime Manuel H. Mariño, the blessing of kindness by Annabelle Q. Bermudo, the blessing of harmony by Amalia D. Aguirre, the blessing of peace by Manuel R. Badillo, the blessing of youth by SK Federation President Richard Sebastian Benedicto, and the blessing of harvest by ABC President Francisco D. Oplas.
The Negros Occidental vice governor Genaro M Alvarez, Jr., and governor Alfredo G. Marañon will share thoughts on the importance of festival and its relations to the economy and tourism of the country.
Mayor Juliet M. Ferrer will declare the official opening of Pasalamat Cultural and Arts Festival 2012 after Roberto J. Cuenca and Mrs. Dorle Baga, wife of vice mayor David Baga, Jr. cut the ceremonial ribbon.
The 15-minute beating of drums of respective tribes and the blasting of siren will subdue the entire place afterwards. Then it will be followed by a nearly-an-hour of fireworks display which will enliven the entire festival park.
Part III is partying at the plaza with live band, featuring Parokya ni Edgar.
